Create an editorial note

A useful correction identifies the wording, the problem and a reason to change it. Keep the note focused on this guide rather than describing a live business fault that needs technical support.

Make the issue easy to locate

Choose the relevant page and a topic. For a correction, quote a short phrase and explain what is inaccurate. For missing information, describe the decision a manager cannot yet make. For a broken link, state the link label and the destination you expected.

An optional source URL can point to supporting documentation. Use a publicly accessible address without credentials, private access tokens or confidential query details. Adding a URL does not cause the tool to open it or verify its contents.

Do not include passwords, customer records or personal contact details. Accessibility notes are useful when they identify the control, the action attempted and the barrier encountered. Device or browser information can help if it is relevant, but it is not required.

Keep control of the draft

After preparing the text, review it in the read-only draft field. Copy places it on your clipboard when the browser permits; otherwise the text is selected for manual copying. Download creates a plain-text file. Reset clears the visible fields and draft, but does not erase a file or clipboard entry you have already created.

The tool prepares text on your own device and nothing is sent.

Use a full address starting with http:// or https://.

Maximum 1,000 characters. Do not include personal or confidential information.

Review the text before copying or downloading it.

Preparing a draft does not report an issue to the site’s administrator. If you choose to send it separately using the editorial email link, your email service handles that communication.
